If you are looking for an amazing Crispy Baked Hot Wings recipe for the Super Bowl this year then look no further. You’ve found the absolute best crispy chicken wings and delightfully spicy sauce recipe ever! Paleo friendly, gluten-free, & dairy-free option as well.
If you knew me in real life, you would know that I don’t follow football. Yet, I get nominated to bring these Crispy Baked Hot Wings to the Super Bowl party every single year. I may not know a lot about football, but I’ve got you and your guests covered with this amazing wing recipe!
In fact, this recipe is so good you might just want to add it to your list of appetizers or make a couple pounds for your husband to enjoy on a random Sunday afternoon. Guaranteed he’ll appreciate it.
The most crucial step for these wings is to pat them dry with paper towels and/or let them air dry for a bit before tossing them in a plastic bag with the salt and baking powder. I know … salt and baking powder … promise you these wings are going knock your socks off.
- So …. dry those wings and drums off with some paper towels.
- Toss them in a plastic bag with the salt and baking powder; shake until coated.
- Lay them skin side up on some sort of baking rack that will allow the fat to drip off the wings into a pan below.
- Bake according to directions (do NOT flip them half way through).
- Then we’ll make the delicious spicy hot sauce and toss them in that right before serving the hot wings.
So, word on the street is that people like to eat Crispy Baked Hot Wings with things like blue cheese dressing & celery. Um ….sure….you go right ahead and do that. For me, that’s just plain weird. I’ll take them straight and enjoy every single complex note of spicy and savory that these chicken wings offer.
What makes these Crispy Baked Chicken Wings {Paleo} nutrient dense?
- Eating meat straight off the bone: soak up some of those bone marrow benefits!
- Using butter from 100% grass-fed cows: high is fat soluble vitamins A & E, a good source of cholesterol (which is now know to not be linked to heart disease), & more.
- If using refined coconut oil instead of butter: contains healthy saturated fat in the form of medium chain triglycerides.
- Coconut sugar instead of brown sugar: coconut sugar is an unrefined sweetener with a low glycemic index.

Roasting pan: I am searching everywhere for the company I bought my roasting pan from for you guys. It is safe/non-toxic and NOT made out of aluminum and was only like $20. As soon as I find it I’ll link to it here. Thanks for your patience! In the meantime using a stainless steel rack in a glass or stone pan would work great.
